The Big School Grounds Festival 9th-13th June, 2014 The Big School Grounds Festival is the exciting theme for LTL’s 2014 National School Grounds Week. We’ll be seeing adults and children in schools and settings across the country putting on their wellies, hanging out the bunting and having a fun time learning and playing outdoors. Curriculum linked outdoor lessons will include headline performances of Music, Drama, Poetry etc., fringe workshops of festival crafts and activities, and even the opportunity to experience camping out in some form or other.
The Growing Schools website has been designed to support teachers and practitioners in using the "outdoor classroom" as a resource across the curriculum for pupils of all ages.  Register to get the excellent and informative enewsletter, look for Places to Visit using the interactive map, check out supporting organisations in your area or look through the extensive and developing range of teaching resources.
A special request for a storytelling chair put us to work thinking about possible designs. As soon as it was delivered the children wanted a story outside .... even though it was only 6 degrees. They can't wait until the weather warms up a little more. We have used large carpet samples to keep them happy sitting down on the ground.
